From time to time, workshops will be offered to help people get started with the project2891 and the project's underlying tech. As each workshop is announced, you'll find the details here.
The workshops tend to cover introductions to the software and hardware used in project2891 (mostly Pure Data and Arduino), fiddling with electronic bits, as well as how incorporate protocol2891 into your own projects. If you are interested in making interactive and / or networked installations, you could find these workshops useful.
The workshops take a slightly different tack from those typically offered on similar subjects. Rather than center activities around learning a specific process in the abstract, the focus of these workshops is producing a set of outcomes using a variety of techniques, using a specific node (or nodes) of project2891 as an example. The techniques introduced can then be applied to other works with relative ease. This is based on the notion that it is easier to relate to abstract concepts when working to a more concrete end -- especially for beginners.

Details & registration

The first series of workshops offered in conjunction with the "hello world" exhibition. These workshops will introduce the basics of using Pure Data (Pd) in conjunction with Arduino to create interactive artworks. They will also demonstrate how to use protocol2891 to network these creations. The nodes exhibited in the gallery will serve as examples.
There is no fee for the workshops. However, to get the most from them, participants are encouraged to bring along an Arduino board and some other bits to play with. Kits with the required parts will be made available for people looking for one-stop shopping. The workshops info page has all the details of what's required and how much it should cost.
